How we build our team
Our linguists are selected through a rigorous recruitment process designed to ensure exceptional quality, reliability, and consistency.
To join our network, candidates must:
be native speakers of the target language and deeply familiar with the local market;
have more than five years of professional freelance experience, with a strong portfolio of translation and proofreading work;
successfully complete a practical test under real working conditions, which is carefully reviewed by our native linguists in the relevant language.
Once onboarded, each translator is evaluated after every project for deadline compliance, accuracy, and overall quality. When issues arise, we review the work internally to identify the cause and take the appropriate corrective action. If necessary, the linguist is replaced to ensure that every project meets our standards.
Our story
Luc Vicedo, the current CEO of Scribivia, started his career as a freelance French translator at Montpellier in an industry that was already evolving quickly.
He identified a clear shift in the translation market. Clients no longer needed overly complex processes. They needed a dedicated team of native translators and proofreaders, a simple structure, standardized workflows, and one-on-one project management. This approach enabled him to offer more competitive pricing without compromising quality. He also started developing a more structured process.
After testing the model with trusted native-speaking partners across several European languages, he decided to move forward with building a lean company structure. Thus, Word Wide Translation was born. Initially, the company operated with a simple management model in which one person handled administration, project management, and sales. Native translators performed the operational work, enabling them to be fairly compensated while keeping costs down for clients.
The company expanded internationally after completing 300 successful projects. Its team of translators and proofreaders grew to 150 people across 60 languages and localizations. They were all selected through a careful recruitment process. As the company broadened its scope, it needed a new name to reflect its evolution: Thus, Scribivia was born.
Scribivia has successfully completed over 500 projects. The agency combines advanced technology with the expertise of experienced linguists to provide translation, localization, and proofreading services that offer an optimal balance of quality, speed, and cost.
